While we continue to practice social distancing measures when possible, we require all our clients to wear a mask when entering the facility, and continue to wear a mask in all common areas while at Grey Matter. All clients are required to take their temperature upon entrance, at a hands free infrared thermometer, mounted at the threshold of main entrance. Any clients with a temperature above 99.4 will not be allowed inside, and their appointment will be rescheduled. An automatic dispenser containing hand sanitizer (sanitizer exceeds CDC & WHO requirements) is located at the entrance and in the lobby. Our staff will wear a mask and gloves at all times. Our float tanks interior, side walls, controls, and water will continue to automatically be cleaned after each float session using a 1 micron filter, UV light, ozone, and 35% hydrogen peroxide. In addition to wiping all door knobs, handles, grab bars, shower controls, soap dispensers, benches, and light switches with a sanitizing wipe after each session and the client leaves the room, it will be treated for 30 minutes with a UV light. This treatment will sanitize the room and its contents to 99.99%. UV light wands will also be used at counter for any transaction of payment and waivers between client and staff. Due to this added precaution in between all float and sauna appointments, we will continue to offer 60 minute float sessions, but in 120 minutes blocks to allow for sanitation of each room, common space, and bathroom which will also eliminate in the overlapping of clients within the facility, preventing more than five people (including staff) within the facility at any one time.

Yes, you are more than welcome to walk-in for a float or sauna session, as long as our booking schedule allows it.

First-time guests will be given a brief walk-through of the room they booked and the basic features of tank as they are introduced to floating and the protocol. All guests are given complete privacy in their room and are required to take a quick, 5-minute shower using shampoo and body wash only. Post shower, floaters will carefully enter the float tank or suite by using the grab bars and will gently lay back in the water.​ Floaters have full control of the light, starlights, and volume of music from inside the tank. When the session comes to an end, the light will gently turn on and floaters are instructed to exit the tank as it will begin its cleaning cycle. Guests are given 10 minutes at the end of their float to shower and wash any lingering Epsom salt and redressed. Guests are invited to drink a cup of local Mad Hattress Tea in the lobby to transition back into the outside world.

The Infrared Sauna is located in its own private room with an ADA-compliant shower. You will be given complete privacy to enjoy your session. The Infrared Sauna is outfitted with speakers and is bluetooth compatible. You have the room for 10 minutes longer than the session you’ve booked  for a post-sauna shower and time to redress.
